La Case de cousin Paul

Ostin pitkän ihailun jälkeen La Case de cousin Paulin koristevalot. Pakkauksen kotiin tuominen aiheutti valtavaa hykertelyä. Kauniita palloja rivissä. Oi ja voi. Kohta ne pääsisi lastenhuoneen ikkunalle.

Moni pallorivi päältä kaunis. Ostoshumala laantui nopeasti, kun valoja alettiin asentaa. Tämä olikin tee-se-itse-tuote. Jokaiseen ihanaan palloon piti itse leikata lovet ennen valojen kiinnittämistä. Voihan. Mukana ei tullut varapalloja. Pienen ajan näpertämisen, kiroilun ja miehelle delegoinnin jälkeen oikea tapa leikata lovet löytyi ja pallot saatiin ikkunaan. Mies keksi, että parhaiten pallot sai kiinnitettyä, kun leikkasi ohjeista poiketen pienen U:n, josta valo oli helppo ujuttaa ja sitten laittaa läppä esteeksi. Helpolla se rutiini ei kuitenkaan löytynyt ja muutama löysä pallo on mukana joukossa. On kuitenkin tunnustettava, että pienen ajan nieleskelin kyyneleitä, kun luulin, että kaikki pallot menevät samoin piloille kuin ensimmäiset ja hetki sitten ihana ostos muuttuukin räpäyksellä sudeksi ja sekundaksi.

Onneksi ei niin kuitenkaan käynyt.



Tässä vielä uunituore otos palloista in action. On ne. Ihanat. Leikkelyturhaumasta huolimatta. Tulisipa pian oikein pimeä syksy, niin palloja voisi ihailla muulloinkin kuin öisin.

Here's the deal. I bought these lovely fancy lights by La Case de cousin Paul. I was just thrilled because I loved them and finaly I made up my mind and knew the color scheme I wanted. In home I opened the package and got devastated. This was peace of DIY-shit. They expected ME to CUT the balls with a SCISSORS and then assemble the lights. And there was no spare balls in the package in the case I would screw it up (very likely). (Jaiks! I don't want to destroy my treasure just after I got it.)

So, what did I do? I started to google. I googled desperately trying to find out bloggers and their experience in assembling the lights by La Case de cousin Paul. There-was-none. I had to be brave and crab my scissors and do it on my own (poor me).  I messed the first one (of course). Then I cursed and my hubby took the lead. He managed to figure out a technique that didn't destroy the balls. (We didn't manage to do it in the way the package briefed. The cut was either too small and mashed the ball or too big and the ball was too loose.)

Here it comes:  Cut little U-shape but don't cut it off. (Don't cut it complete off! Then the ball will be lost and like I said, there was no extras. [I really think there should be.]) With this U-shaped thingy it is easy to get the light inside the ball and then the U-shaped piece is easy to put as a stopper so the lights don't fall out. It worked and I decided to share my experience if there is another desperate googler searching for assembling experience.

In the end, I love it! I love it, love it, loooove it! Lights are in the play room of my children.
